Hello friends, in my last article, you have learned Noun and it's types in detail. I know that you must be enjoying learning English grammar in a simplest language. We will learn about what Pronoun is. and it's types in this article.
Introduction to Pronouns
In the realm of grammar and language, pronouns play a crucial role. They are an essential component of speech and writing that help us refer to people, places, things, and ideas without constantly repeating their names.
Pronouns are vital for maintaining clarity and brevity in our communication. They allow us to avoid unnecessary repetition and facilitate smooth conversations and cohesive writing. However, it is important to use pronouns correctly and in a way that respects gender identity and inclusivity.

Definition of Pronoun:- The word which is used instead of noun, to avoid the repetition of noun, is called as Pronoun.
Example: Virat is handsome.
He is handsome.
In this sentence, we replaced the name "Virat" with pronoun "He".
I, We, you, He, She,It, they,

- I and We are first person pronouns.
- You is second person pronoun.( This pronoun is used for both singular and plural)
- He, She, It and They are used as third person pronouns.
Cases of Pronouns
"I" is used for self.
"He" is used for male.(only for human beings)
No "She" is used for female. (only for human beings)
"It" is used for animal, things, inanimate objects etc.
"They" is used for others.
"You" is used for person or people next to us.

Types of PronounThere are 9 types of pronoun.
1) Personal Pronoun
2) Reflexive Pronoun
3) Demonstrative Pronoun

1)Personal Pronoun:- As mentioned above, "I, We, They, You, He, She, It", these are personal Pronouns.

2) Reflexive Pronoun:- If the person acts himself....then these Pronouns are used.
Example:
The king wrote a letter himself.
I completed that task myself.
3) Demonstrative Pronoun:- The Pronoun which is used to indicate a person or a thing is called Demonstrative Pronoun.
"This, That, These, Those" are Demonstrative Pronouns.
"This" and "That " are singular. And "These" and "Those" are their plural respectively.
Example:
This is my pen.
These are my pens.
That is your car.
Those are your cars.
4)Indefinite Pronoun:- The pronoun which indicates the uncertainty, is called Indefinite Pronoun.
Example:- All, Everyone, Everybody, Few, Some,nobody, None, Someone, Anyone, Many, someone, one etc.
One ought to respect his parents.
Everyone should obey the law.
Someone is culprit.
Some are present at the event.
Nobody was there.
Note:- Indefinite Pronouns follow musculine gender possessive adjectives.
Ex. One must do his work.
In above sentence, we used "his" for "one".
5)Interrogative Pronoun:- when we use "who whom, which, and what" to ask the question, and the answer we will get is the noun, then such words are called Interrogative Pronouns.
"Who, whom, which, what"...are Interrogative Pronouns.
Ex. 1) Jury sentenced the culprit.
If we ask question in above answer,
Who sentenced the culprit?
We will get the answer jury, which is noun...so
"Who" is an Interrogative Pronoun.
2)He asked the question to teacher.
Let's create the question here commenced with whom...
Whom did he ask the question?
The answer is to teacher which is noun.
So the word in the question "whom" is the Interrogative Pronoun.
6) Distributive Pronoun:- The pronoun which is used to Distributive (divide) the person, is called Distributive Pronoun.
"Each, Either, Neither" are Distributive Pronouns.
Example:-
1) Each of the players looks fatigued.
In above sentence, each is the word which divides the players, that's why "each" is the Distributive Pronoun here.
2)I take either tea or coffee.
3) neither you nor your brother completed the homework.
7) Exclamatory Pronoun:- The pronoun which expresses exclamation, such pronoun is called as Exclamatory Pronoun.
Example:- what! Are you tired?
In this sentence, what expresses the exclamation, so it's an Exclamatory Pronoun.
8) Relative Pronoun:- when the Wh- words like "where, when, who, which" used to join two sentences, such words are called Relative Pronouns.
Example:-
I went to the place where The king shivaji maharaj adjourned.
It was the time when she was living here.
This is the person who won the prize.
It is a pen which I used in the exam.
9) Emphatic Pronoun:- when the reflexive Pronoun comes just after subject, such kind of Pronoun is called as Emphatic Pronoun.
It is used to emphasize the person who himself do the task.
Example:- The king himself went to the
